The African Barb, scientifically known as Enteromius fasciolatus, is a small, freshwater fish native to Central and Southern Africa. They are known for their peaceful, schooling behaviour and are popular in the aquarium trade. These fish typically have a lifespan of up to 5 years and reach an adult size of 2-2.4 inches (5-6 cm).
The carp is a hardy greenish brown fish. It is native to Eurasia but has been introduced into Africa and elsewhere. A large-scaled fish with two barbells on each side of its upper jaw, the carp lives alone or in small schools in quiet weedy mud-bottomed ponds, lakes, and rivers.
