The swordtail (Xiphophorus hellerii) is a live-bearing freshwater fish. Its name comes from the male’s long, straight lower tail lobe, which resembles a pointed sword. The female has a rounded tail fin. This fish has a triangular head and conical upper and lower jaws.
The carp is a hardy greenish brown fish. It is native to Eurasia but has been introduced into Africa and elsewhere. A large-scaled fish with two barbells on each side of its upper jaw, the carp lives alone or in small schools in quiet weedy mud-bottomed ponds, lakes, and rivers.
The Upside-Down Catfish (Synodontis nigriventris) is a freshwater fish known for its unique behaviour of swimming upside down, hence the name. These peaceful, omnivorous fish are popular in community aquariums due to their interesting behaviour and compatibility with other species.
Knife fish are a diverse group of ray-finned fish characterized by their laterally flattened, knife-like body shape. They are known for their unique swimming style, using undulations of a long anal fin to move both forward and backward. Many knife fish species can also generate weak electric fields for navigation, prey detection, and communication. They are primarily found in freshwater environments, with some species inhabiting South America, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia
